Mentor Chat: Following the Medical Track

Rajika will talk about the expectations for high schoolers looking to be pre-med or related majors and what it is like going through college preparing for medical school.

  • When? August 15th, 2019 6:00pm PT

  • Where? Online (link will be emailed once you register)

  • Register Here - Limited to 15 spots!

Meet Rajika:

Rajika studied Public Health at UC Berkeley and is currently completing her MD/MPH at University of Miami School of Medicine. She has done a plethora of research, domestic and international volunteering, and internships at HealthTech companies. She looks forward to helping students on the pre-med path and is passionate about helping students prepare for career in the medical field.

Meet Alfredo:

Alfredo is currently a third-year medical student at the University of Miami’s 4 year MD/MPH program. He grew up in the predominantly Hispanic city of Hialeah, Florida before attending MIT to obtain a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. While at MIT, Alfredo worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and collaborated with peers and administration to improve mental health on campus. Throughout college and medical school, Alfredo returned to his high school to motivate students to think big about their college aspirations and to speak about life in the medical field so far. He graduated a semester early from MIT and returned to his hometown so that he could tutor at Florida International University and work with students in his high school before starting medical school. He is currently an interviewer for MIT applicants in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, and he continues to enjoy speaking with and giving feedback and advice to those applying to universities or medical schools.
